On 5th June 2026, the Association of Insect Farmers & Its Products (AIFIP), in collaboration with Nawiri Organics, successfully hosted the BSF Farmer Recruitment Drive & Training at the Nawiri Organics Agroecology Center of Excellence in Sinendet, Njoro, Nakuru County.
The event brought together 67 participants, including smallholder farmers, youth agripreneurs, and Ward Livestock Officers for a full-day programme centred on the theme: “Integrating Black Soldier Fly Technology for Circular & Profitable Farming.”
Sessions covered BSF lifecycle management, substrate handling, organic fertilizer production, and circular farm systems, complemented by hands-on demonstrations and a round table discussion with practising BSF farmers.
A particular highlight was the participation of Stephen Hinga, a visually impaired BSF farmer, underscoring AIFIP’s commitment to inclusive agricultural development.
The event recorded strong interest in AIFIP membership, with follow-up support and onboarding already underway. AIFIP plans to scale similar drives to additional regions across Kenya.
